Mattresses




The Reno Mattress is a structure with a large area and a small thickness made from double twist hexagonal wire mesh with mechanical properties greater than those specified in UNI-EN 10223-3, certified in accordance with the "Guidelines to draw up specifications for the use of double twist wire netting" issued by the National Public Works Council - Central Technical Service (Certified Product No. 226/001).

These elements are adopted mainly for the protection of banks and embankments and they have a "substantial structural importance" based on the high risk of collapse of the soil works protected and, as such, must have the requirements specified in the Technical Standards for the Works under Ministerial Decree 14 September 2005 and subsequent amendments.

The Reno Mattresses are filled with stones on site to create a flexible, permeable and monolithic structure to be used for river and canal bank protection works.

The wire used in the production of Reno Mattresses (with a low carbon content) may be coated with heavy-duty galvanising, with Galfan (a eutectic alloy of Zinc and Aluminium(5%) - cerium and lanthanum) and with an additional coating of plastic material, in order to avoid any risk of corrosion.

In order to strengthen the structure, all the edges are reinforced with a wire having a larger diameter.
The Reno Mattresses are divided into uniform cells by means of internal diaphragms placed at 1m intervals.
