Ring Panel

For hybrid uses, where the mesh may need to withstand high static and dynamic stresses, Maccaferri proposes wire rope nets. These typically consist of 35 cm diameter ropes consisting of a high strength steel wire coil. Each rope is intersected by another 4 or 6 adjoining ropes so as to form mesh panels with different densities of ropes and, therefore, different strengths.
The rope nets are typically used for the facing of rock slopes subject to the falling of large masses, where the local stresses on the mesh reach very high peaks, but without the mesh suffering appreciable damage.
